The Ø Audio Icon is a high-efficiency speaker that is easy to drive even for low-powered tube amplifiers. They are recommended to be used with amplifiers from around 8w depending on the setup and room size!

The Icon has a unique asymmetrical design with no parallel walls. This gives very little resonance and also reduces the problems with reflecting sound waves inside the cabinet.
Top-of-the-line components
Ø Audio only uses top-of-the-line components all the way in our products. We use custom-designed woofers from Acoustic Elegance, Italian-made compression drivers, crossover components from Duelund and Jantzen, and enclosures handcrafted in Poland.
Controlled directivity
The Icon has a controlled directivity! The horn has a directivity of 60 degrees horizontally, which is narrower than many other HiFi speakers. This results in fewer reflections from sidewalls, which makes a better and more precise soundstage.
The Verdande is built with our newly developed woofer, compression driver and horn. These drivers are designed to set new standards and are what makes the Verdande so special. The woofer uses a very light weight and super hard paper cone with carbon fiber dustcap, combined with our extremely linear and powerful motorsystem. The high frequency driver is a 2,89" carbon fiber ring radiator with a very special multilayer radial phaseplug.
Only one type of crossover filter was ever considered for the Verdande. Our own assisted first order design is the only filter topology that has no phase distortion and at the same time has relatively limited overlap between the drivers. A fi rst order filter has no phase distortion thus providing perfect impulse response by definition. Our version mathematically integrates an adjustment past the crossover point that reduces lobing. This improves the room integration significantly and makes the cross over point virtually impossible to hear.
The Verdande is extremely free of resonances. It does not have phase distortion. The response is extremely smooth and so is the dispersion pattern. The wave front is simple and constant to avoid making a nyvi rtua I sound sources. All types of distortion are kept extremely low, in particular the bad intermodulation distortion that is so typical for loudspeakers. These speakers can deliver the most subtle details imaginable, and at the same time have the ability to reproduce realistic levels from anything you throw at it. It is pretty much as close you can get to a canvas for music to be presented in its absolutelyoriginal form.
